This is the ninth book in this author's popular Tracers series. I am a big fan and have read every book in the series, so I was thrilled to get an ARC from Net Galley. Though this book is definitely more interesting when read as part of the series, it could easily be read as a standalone in my opinion. Some of my favorite Delphi Center employees pop up in this story, but very little of the previous books' events are discussed.
Shadow Fall focuses on Tara, a very driven, independent and focused FBI agent. She is sent to investigate the murder of a young woman. She immediately finds herself attracted to a handsome security specialist who is trying to butt in on the investigation. Unfortunately, he soon turns into a suspect. Liam refuses to allow suspicions to keep him from attempting to find the murderer. He also doesn't intend to stay away from Tara. Though her gruff headstrong ways would probably turn many others off, Liam finds Tara intriguing and pursues her by trying to help her investigation.
When more bodies are discovered and a serial killer revealed, Tara fits the profile of the killer's target victim perfectly. As the danger in her life escalates, she has to decide whether accepting Liam's help is worth the risk.
Laura Griffin is always an auto buy for me. The Tracers series has been great so far, and I can't wait to read more.
