Relentless River by Lindsay Cross

I never fail to love the books in this series. The guys are always completely alpha, but they are often stymied by some spunky kick butt women. That is totally the case here. Bo is headstrong, organized, and completely in control of everything...everything except Cheri. She is the proverbial fly in his ointment, an itch he knows he shouldn't scratch. Cheri wants Bo even though she knows he is everything she isn't. She also isn't afraid to make a move since Bo can't seem to make up his mind. Just when things seem like they could get interesting, Cheri gets herself into a problematic and potentially dangerous situation trying to protect her only family. She's not concerned about the danger, but Bo is ready to do just about anything to keep her out of it. If the worst happens anyway though, can Bo protect her from himself and what his feelings for her might drive him to do?

I was really ready for Bo to finally get a story. Cheri was his antithesis and therefore perfect for the staid and stodgy sheriff. I would have loved to have caught up with some of my favorite characters a bit more, but this was a pretty centralized story around Cheri and Bo without a need for much peripheral action. Maybe there will be more catch up in the next book. Lindsay Cross was already on my favorites list, and she's definitely staying there.
