Into the Whirlwind by Kat Martin

If you read the first book of this series, you will  recognize Megan and Dirk. Megan was one of the models under protection, and Dirk was her protector. After a brief affair, Megan allowed fear to influence her to break things off with the excuse that Dirk might not be father material for her young son. Now, her son is missing, and Dirk is her only hope of finding him.

I loved this author's Brodies series, and BOSS is a spin off with familiar characters from the other series. I was caught up in this story pretty quick since the suspense hits right from the first page. I was a total Dirk fan!

Under the Surface by Anne Calhoun

Matt and Eve had great chemistry right from the start even though Eve was hesitant  hook up with her new bartender. Matt, however, was determined to make a connection since his undercover assignment was to protect Eve without her knowledge.  Eve is very self sufficient but secretly scared to be on her own dealing with a criminal from her past who expects her to fall in line with his plans to use her business.  When she finds out help is right behind her bar though, she might not be happy about the deception.

This story was suspenseful from the start, and Eve was exactly what Matt never knew he needed. He went undercover to save her, but she pretty much turns the tables and gives him back his life. I really enjoyed it.

Secret Pleasure by Lora Leigh

I have read several books in this series because not only do they have the forbidden fantasy factor of menage relationships, but unlike many such books, these have really well developed characters and complicated emotional plots. This book in particular was heart wrenching, but so worth the emotional investment.  I absolutely loved Alyssa's nicknames for the guys and how they totally captured their personalities. The guys were so intense yet absolutely charming. This story was absolutely not to be missed!

Bound to Serve by Julie Castle

it was amazing

Wow!!! This was nothing like what I expected. When the description said undercover, it really meant it in more ways than one. Be forewarned that this book is seriously hot and sexy with pervasive BDSM elements. The chemistry was off the charts, and despite the heavy sexual content, it had a well though out plot and plenty of suspense since Bridget wasn't very good at following orders and was forever getting in trouble. Condor was older, set in his ways and seriously alpha. The two of them made an interesting team and an even better couple.

Rival Forces by D.D. Ayres

really liked it

I read one other book in this series and enjoyed it, so I figured my chances were good for liking this one. Yardley was a tough character. She had her emotions on total lockdown and her life focused fully on work. Kye enjoyed his work but looked forward to some downtime in the sun. The two had a brief but meaningful encounter a dozen years prior which had resulted in a painful ending for both of them. They are like oil and water when they encounter each other again. They don't mix at all. Kye still has feelings for her, but Yardley has tried to move on and is searching for her missing boyfriend who unwittingly brought danger and Kye to her door. The story had great animal characters and good chemistry between the couple despite Yardley's resistance. It also had good tension and suspense.

APB Baby by Julie Miller

it was amazing

I liked this even better than I thought I would. It caught my interest from the very beginning. Niall was a great character. He was so serious but still sexy with his messy hair and glasses. Lucy was just the opposite, an intrepid blabbermouth with a sweet caring disposition. Oddly enough, these two connected deeply, and Lucy seemed to read Niall like a book. When they team up to find Lucy's former foster daughter and care for the missing woman's baby, the chemistry between them catches Niall of guard. Lucy loves Niall's big loving family and finds herself fitting in a little too well since she is not sure if Niall sees her as anything more than a job or responsibility. In the meantime, someone is after the baby Lucy is protecting, and he doesn't mind hurting her to get what he wants. Niall intends to make sure that doesn't happen.

This story kept a good pace with plenty of suspenseful and action oriented moments. The relationship was really sweet and fun to watch develop. All the characters were interesting, so I will definitely be checking out the next book.

Delta: Revenge by Cristin Harber

it was amazing

Amazing as always!

Can I just say that I love Cristin Harber?!? She is absolutely one of the best military style romantic suspense author's out there. The Titan series has been more than a favorite for me, and Delta is shaping up to be just as good. Javier and Sophia has some seriously hot chemistry right from the start. They couldn't have been more different, yet they were two parts of the same whole. Javier never thought he would ever make any relationship connections. He never wanted to. Sophia on the other hand, was ready to walk down the aisle to a white picket fence, at least she was until she discovered at the alter that her groom had been cheating on her. The two find each other when both of them are at their lowest and vulnerable. Sophia seems to know from the start that the connection between them is important and real, but Javier is consumed with his need for revenge. He keeps walking away when Sophia needs him the most. In the end, he has to make a choice. Will he chose Sophia or revenge?

Cristin Harber is an automatic buy for me. I know the characters ( including the peripheral characters) will be well developed and great tho read. The military style segments are always well researched and come across completely believable, and the chemistry sucks the reader right in. I also enjoy the little updates of characters from previous books. This time it was one of my favorite couples, Jared and Sugar. It totally made made smile.
