A Millionaire at Midnight by Naima Simone

Alex needs a wife and Morgan needs to secure ownership of a building in order to save a charity that holds her heart. He thinks she's an unrepentant gold digger. She thinks he is a snobby judgemental prick. They find themselves stuck with each other once Morgan wins Alex at a masquerade auction only to later discover he is her new boss. He pretty much fires her on sight, but Morgan doesn't go down without a fight. It doesn't take long for Alex to realize his first impressions were off base and begin to explore whether Morgan might be the solution to his wife dilemma. He doesn't want to be close to anyone, but neither does Morgan. An arrangement between them could easily stay platonic, at least that's what they think. Wrong! They have way too much chemistry for that. Sparks fly in every way possible, and they have no problem convincing everyone that they are a real couple...maybe even themselves. Unfortunately, they both have some severe trust issues, so when Morgan's past comes between them, it's anyone's guess whether they can survive the fallout.

This was fiery, sexy, and had plenty of amusing moments. I also truly loved the literary references scattered throughout...and the nicknames.

I received an ARC from Net Galley for honest review.

This was not a suspense, but was still a great read.
