Midnight Fire by Lisa Marie Rice

Not long ago I received an ARC of one of the books in this series. I enjoyed it so much that I went back to the beginning and purchased all the books. Now I'm thrilled to have been given an ARC (from Net Galley) of the latest book in the series. This book features Jack. He was introduced toward the end of the last book. Jack has been presumed dead and working undercover for a while. He manages to keep his identity secret until political blogger and long time family friend, Summer, recognizes him and refuses to let the story drop. Summer is relentless, so Jack finds it more expedient to team up and work together to undercover the secret terrorist plots which threaten the entire nation. It doesn't take long for Summer's very recognizable face to be captured on film at the location of a small attack. She quickly becomes a target. Jack fears her will need help to catch the terrorists in time and, most importantly too him, keep Summer safe. The two of them flee to Portland and ASI for help. With the investigative powers of ASI, they uncover a plot with high teaching tentacles. With no one else to trust, Jack, Summer, and the ASI team take on the terrorist, but will they be able to stop it in time?

This is a very sexy series with really great characters you will fall in love with. I love that this motley crew of people should really never have gotten together, but yet they have become their own closer knit family off sorts, a family who takes care of their own.
