The Blind by Sidney Bristol

Jacob's father once arrested an infamous serial killer who murdered Emma's grandparents. Through the years, Emma has methodically researched the TBK killer trying to understand the man who irrevocably altered her father's life and by default, hers. Jacob's father was also irreversibly changed. Both he and Emma were greatly effected by a now dead killer. When Jacob fears a copycat may be on the loose, he contacts Emma without revealing his connection to TBK. Their meeting is sort of an opposite attract type thing. Jacob is all buttoned down order while Emma is in your face motorcycles, blow torches, and tattoos. Though not a couple you would typically put together, chemistry is immediate. Though they don't hook up immediately between the sheets, they do end up working together investigating the copycat once Jacob realizes Emma will investigate on her own anyway. The more time they spend together, the more Jacob realizes Emma is what he really wants. He plans to keep her if he can manage to keep her safe from the killer who wants to claim her as his ultimate prize.

The killer in this story was certainly creepy. Emma was strong and always doing the unexpected. Jacob was constantly challenged by her, and their banter was amusing. Emma was really good for Jacob, and he was just what she never knew she needed. I enjoyed the story and the killer club concept. I'm interested to see what the next book in the series holds.

I received an ARC from Net Galley for review.
