Secrets and Seduction by Sahara Roberts

Andres and Monica are both stuck in a bad situation. In a small town in Mexico, a powerful drug cartel has taken over. The town doctor has been coerced into becoming the private physician for the cartel's leader. He has asked Monica to step in and take over his practice for a while. In this old-fashioned town, she finds herself an anomaly, and struggles at times with the confines of the community's strict rules. Andres is working as a horse trainer on the farm that has been his family for generations. The cartel has taken it, and he will do anything to get it back. Meanwhile, a dangerous shadow is taking out cartel members one by one. The only problem with that is that innocent people are hurt in the process. Andres has flirted with Monica since she first arrived in the small town, but never anything too serious. That changes, the more time he spends with her and gets to know her. Unbeknownst to each other, the two are both playing a dangerous game, and could be killed at any time. Unfortunately, neither one trust the other enough to spill their secrets. It doesn't stop them from sharing a bed, however.

The couple had good chemistry, and I liked the characters. I did find myself getting confused at times with all of the many secondary characters and their relationships, but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the main story.

I received an ARC from the publisher through Net Galley for review.
